ATLANTA -- A Fulton County judge has denied bond for the 17-year-old accused of fatally shooting John Henderson, a beloved Atlanta bartender at Standard Food and Spirits.

Police sources told Channel 2 Action News investigative reporter Mark Winne that they have "DNA and ballistic evidence" linking 17-year-old Jonathan Redding to Henderson's death and several other crimes. Atlanta police arrested and charged Redding in connection with the crime.

According to Fulton County jail records, Redding is being held on 22 charges, including felony murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery and false imprisonment. He was initially booked into the Fulton County Jail on April 10.

Investigators think the suspect was involved in an earlier robbery outside the Standard.

Investigators said the same gun used to kill Henderson was also used in the robbery outside the Standard and at a home invasion robbery on Jan. 9.

The homeowner at the home invasion fired at the robbers and hit one. Police said the wounded robber was Redding.

Police are also searching for three other men they believe were involved in Henderson's death.

While Redding was being moved from Atlanta police headquarters to the Fulton County Jail, Winne asked him if he killed Henderson.

"No sir, I don't know nothing about it," Redding told Winne.

Police believe Redding is a member of a gang.

"We believe he's affiliated with the street gang 30-deep," Detective Anthony Gentile of the Atlanta Police Department told Winne.

Winne said Redding has the number 30 tattooed on his neck.

Ashley Elder, who works at the Standard and was in the bar when Henderson was killed, said she has mixed feelings about Redding's arrest.

"I'm glad the kid is off the street," Elder told Winne. "You want to be happy about that, but when you've got a kid who murdered one of your friends. There's not really a happy ending to this story."

Henderson, 27, was shot and killed Jan. 7 at his workplace during a robbery attempt. Police said he was killed even after he complied with the demands of the robbers.
